Welcome to the Wyndham Hills Property Owners Association website

Planned in 1929, Wyndham Hills is an excellent example of the style of the Olmsted Brothers of Brookline, Massachusetts, a firm founded by the sons of Frederick Law Olmsted, the father of American landscape architecture well-known for his designs such as Central Park and Prospect Park in New York City.  Built upon their father's vision of urban planning, the Olmsted Brothers was a prolific and influential firm in its own right, creating such well-known landscapes as the National Mall and White House grounds in Washington, D.C.

Wyndham Hills is an entirely residential neighborhood consisting of mostly masonry houses, all with deep setbacks of 20 feet to 50 feet from the road, meant to draw attention to the curving landscape rather than the homes.  The neighborhood includes 19 original homes built from 1930 through the beginning of WWII.  The individual architect-designed homes vary in style and include a mixture of Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and French Eclectic styles popular through the mid-1900's.  More recently built homes are of contemporary design.  Many homes include connected wings and ells lending an informal feeling to the buildings.  Many of the houses use stone, with wide weatherboard and brick as secondary materials.

Built on what was known locally as Webb's Hill, Wyndham Hills consists of 330 acres on a steep grade rising 440 feet; however, the original plan was firm in the specification that no road have more than a 10% grade, leading to the curvy roads for which the neighborhood is well-known.  The winding roads also highlight the landscape design integral to its character.  Most roads run perpendicular to the fall line, with houses either above or below the road on opposite sides.  Triangular landscaped areas are repeated several times throughout the neighborhood where roads split in two directions, and the primary roads are planted with continuous lines of deciduous trees, all emphasizing the natural setting as was intended by the Olmsted design aesthetic of indigenous and naturalistic landscapes

The mission of the Wyndham Hills Property Owners Association is to preserve the quality of the Wyndham Hills neighborhood by maintaining its beauty, historical integrity, and safety with regular resident communications, and promoting a neighborhood community by organizing social events and neighborhood projects.
